Creating bespoke simulator solutions

Our customer was about to sign a contract to build a flight simulator device for the Bombardier Challenger 350 – one of the best performing business jets in the super mid-size class and in high demand for pilots who need to build up their training hours.

Artemis was tasked with locating a suitable donor aircraft. Decommissioned aircraft cockpit sections with original controls still in place allow for a more efficient build process and a greater level of fidelity to the aircraft type being simulated.

Simulators take around nine months to build before final commissioning, so it was critical that we located a suitable retired aircraft as quickly as possible.

The Solution

After researching the aircraft extensively, we agreed a Challenger 300 as an acceptable alternative aircraft because the differences between the 300 and 350 cockpits are limited. On receiving customer approval, we began the search. Within a few days we found and secured an aircraft scheduled for teardown.

The Outcome

From initial enquiry to delivery, we maintained constant contact with the customer informing them of progress. Our customer was delighted with the outcome saying we had exceeded all expectations. Our successful delivery of the Challenger 350 device was quickly followed with a new request from the customer to support a similar project.
