What initially appeared to be a straightforward assignment – sourcing components for routine repairs on a widely operated aircraft type – quickly evolved into a far more complex challenge.
Our customer, a major international airline, had anticipated a standard procurement process involving approximately 20 to 30 line items. However, the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider originally tasked with the repairs unexpectedly entered administration and subsequently changed ownership. As a result, their procurement activities were halted across all ongoing projects, including this one. Meanwhile, the aircraft remained grounded (AOG), incurring operational disruptions and financial losses for our customer.
