As corporate sponsors of The Air League, Artemis’ owners and founders Jim and Deborah Scott were delighted to attend the charity’s annual reception on Wednesday 9th July at the Palace of Westminster.
The Air League organises the reception every year to welcome, recognise and thank supporters and partners in its mission to help change lives through aviation. It’s also an opportunity for the charity to present awards to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to furthering excellence in the UK aviation, aerospace and space industries.
Founded in 1909, The Air League is the UK’s leading aviation, aerospace and space charity. It aims to inspire, enable and support the next generation of aviation professionals from all backgrounds, and break down the barriers into these industries through its scholarship and outreach programmes. It increases social mobility by acting as a catalyst to show that these opportunities are available to everyone, including disadvantaged youngsters and injured servicemen and women.
The reception was hosted by Janine Hornsby, CEO of The Air League, and the guest speaker was Mike Kane MP, Aviation, Maritime and Security Minister. Jim and Deborah were delighted to meet and talk to some of the inspiring and enthusiastic young people supported by The Air League, as well as many colleagues in the aviation and related industries.
Commenting on the event, Deborah said:
“Thank you to Janine and everyone at The Air League for organising such an enjoyable evening. It was inspiring to see so many incredible contributors to the aviation industry and we are honoured to be part of such an important charity. Congratulations to all the award winners. We look forward to continuing to support and promote The Air League’s essential work.”
